Novartis’ Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance (PS&PV) function is committed to continuous improvement, and we are now embarking on a significant transformation program. Our transformation program will focus on the core pillars of our organisation, our people and capability, our processes and ways of working, and our technology and digital enablers. This transformation will also impact how PS&PV interacts and collaborates with other Novartis Development functions, such as Clinical and Regulatory Affairs.

We are therefore looking for a driven Transformation Director to play a major role in the strategic leadership of this transformation. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the delivery of the strategic Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance Transformation from design to implementation (Organizational transformation, People enablement, business value chain re-engineering, and PV technology platform build, etc).

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in creating and driving the overall strategic objectives of the PV Transformation Office. Provide senior leadership across the organisation and direct expert support to the Global Head, PV Transformation and deputize for the Global Head, PV Transformation.
  • Build meaningful, lasting and collaborative strategic relationships across PS&PV and Novartis Development to ensure PV Transformation success and integration in the broader enterprise landscape.
  • Represent PV Transformation in extensive internal and external forums and ensure optimal collaboration and communication with external partners supporting the Transformation.
  • Drive the thought-leadership regarding enhancement of strategic capabilities in different domains (People, Process, Technology) to enable PS&PV functions to continue to deliver on value realization into the future
  • Act as subject matter expert in multiple key domains related to the PV transformation (e,g, organizational transformation, PV subject matter, business value chain and/or technology etc)
  • Independently represent on behalf of the Transformation Office in an assigned cohort of Workstreams, or Products built out within the PV Platform build workstream. Provide support to enable swift Product team decision making.
  • Responsible for establishment and oversight of KPIs related to transformation progress and risk management (RAID). Oversee organizational change management, communication and stakeholder management on ongoing progress of the transformation, aligned with PS&PV LT.
  • Responsible for successful delivery and implementation of the critical Digital Product Roadmap (DPR) and annual digital product funding (DPF) requests. Pressure-test and risk-mitigate plans for transition from old to new operating model

Essential Requirements

  • Considerable, both broad and deep, Pharmacovigilance or Development industry experience
  • Strong ability to collaborate across boundaries
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management
  • Track record of strategy development and realization over the long-term
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity bring successful business outcomes

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in large-scale organizational transformations
  • Prior business management exposure
